A lot of you have asked me how the wedding went last year and I must say it was the best day of my life. Kirsten received her new passport the other day and now she officially Mrs. Breeze! I feel very proud.
My photographer forgot to tell me that he made a very cool video of some of the photos from the day. In fact, I stumbled across it recently and was amazed, so I thought I’d share the video with you…
The photographer (John Langridge) was absolutely brilliant – before, during and after the big day he was very professional, did a fantastic job and made the day run smoothly. If you ever need a photographer, he’s your man – I fully endorse him.
I’d love to hear your comments, so leave them below! Also, please “like” the website by looking at the top right hand side of the page and clicking the button.
From all the blog comments and personal emails sent to me, the most popular choice was “Brilliant Storytelling”. As promised, the video has now been added below and I think you’ll really enjoy it. It’s even got an excerpt from a classic film for a very specific reason… the other videos (anchoring the stage & the audience’s 6 deepest needs) will be added to the MSA member site very soon. If you want to find out more about the MSA and becoming a member, just click the button below the video. We have a Xmas holiday special right now…
I’m going to be in ‘the studio’ this week and so I thought I’d ask you what videos you’d like me to create for you. I’ll probably have time to do 3 quality videos and I’ll be uploading the most popular choice in this video blog post. The content I’ll be sharing with you is very new and so advanced that I’ve never talked about it on video before – only in my 1-to-1′s and workshops.
So, your choice is from:
1) How to tell brilliant stories (the finer points)
2) How to walk on stage and ‘anchor‘ the stage
3) How to use the audience’s 6 deepest needs to really connect.
All you need to do is let me know your choice in the comments section below. Also, any further comments/questions, let me know and I’ll cover them in the videos.
The other 2 videos will be uploaded in the private Master Speaker Academy member area (more on this soon!).
“It’s not what we have to say… but what the audience wants to hear”.
This interview was such fun and I think you’ll agree that Dexter is an absolute legend. Not only is he a great persuader with a ton of credibility, but he is full of integrity and is the go-to-guy when it comes to influence. When I first met Dexter, we had a chat over coffee and I instantly wanted to do business with him – a true master at work! I’ll be inviting him to different upcoming events in 2011 so watch this space Master Speakers…!
Please “facebook like” this post (if you do that is!) and leave comments as I’ll get Dexter to swing by and answer all your questions.
I was interview by Anneesh Elizabeth the other day and she asked many different questions, including the ones you left in the previous post (SEE HERE), so thank you for that!
I answered Beth’s question on facebook about looking confident and controlling the fears… I answered Darren’s question on engaging a non-responsive crowd… I answered Juanita’s questions on controlling the fears of public speaking and whether it’s at all possible to become confident (it is possible by the way!)… I answered Esther’s questions on autocues and having a communication technique… and finally I answered Kalkidan’s question on whether you can become a great speaker and what happens if no one wants to listen to you.
PHEW!
I know a lot of you left questions on the blog that I didn’t get to cover, but you’ll be pleased to know I am creating videos straight after updating this post.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please your comments below.
I’m going to be interviewed later on today by Anneesh Elizabeth, and so I thought I should give you the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have about public speaking. It could be to do with building confidence, improving your communication, becoming more influential as a speaker, or something completely out of the blue.
My promise to you is that I will answer each and every question you have. Even if we don’t have time in the interview, I’ll create some more videos for you. Here’s the great bit… be as selfish as you wish! If you’ve got a specific question, now’s the time to ask it.
So… have a think and then ask me the question in the comments below. The interview starts at 6pm and will last approximately 45 minutes, so get your questions in now!
“Tom, before a presentation I am so fearful and I absolutely hate it. But I know that if I start off well and get the first few minutes over and done with I start feeling more comfortable, and then I can sometimes even enjoy it! It’s so frustrating and what would you recommend I do?”
Well, this is what I do and I can completely trust in myself to deliver a great presentation. I remove all my fears because of this one strategy and the clients I teach use this same system all the time. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
I got a call from Patrick Powers (marketing expert for entrepreneurs and small business owners) the other day and he wanted to come down and interview me on becoming a great speaker.
So we had a meeting and I answered all the questions he had for me! Simple as that really… To watch the interview, just look below and press play.
In this video we are going to focus on your breathing and take it a stage further than usual.
You see, if you feel anxious or nervous, then breathing correctly is paramount if you want to become more calm and relaxed when you present. I always teach people to breathe in for 4 and out for 8 before a presentation to prepare (there are videos on this in the confidence training section).
But what do the best speakers in the world do to train themselves to breathe correctly so they are naturally relaxed when speaking in public? Well, watch the video below to find out.
Please leave your comments as always as I will get back to you as soon as possible.
In this short video, I explain the first (often overlooked) step you need to take in order to remove your fears and anxieties of public speaking for good.
Without this step, many people continue to attribute ‘blame’ to the problem of their lack of confidence with public speaking and this is a no-win situation. You need to ensure you don’t ask the WHY question but rather HOW.
Let me know if you have any questions (as I am sure you will!).
